With a chill in the air this week here in Calgary, it is certainly feels like fall is nearing and schools will soon fill up with students of all ages. I always loved this time of year for the cozy sweaters, changing colours and, of course, an abundance of new school supplies! Although... I was not always such a big of a fan of the schooling part ;) Getting the new yearly planner on the first day of school with all the important dates and holidays already filled in for us and a bundle of fresh pens and highlighters to get organizing was always a great way to start the semester.
After withdrawing from post-secondary school in my 20s, I would sometimes buy a new planner to kick off a New Year with a new list of far-fetched goals and wildly fun ideas of what was possible for the year ahead. However, every year I would find myself a few months in not really in to it anymore and/or relying solely on more technology to organize my life. Now don't get me wrong, I love technology but as I've returned to going "old school" and putting pen to paper to keep track of my goals and checking in regularly with how I'm feeling... well things have changed significantly. When I decided to truly change things this year I knew I had to really do things differently. One of the major sources of these changes is working through the book The Desire Map - A Guide to Creating Goals with Soul by Danielle LaPorte. To be honest, I bought this book a few years ago, read it and put it back on the bookshelf. I didn't do the work - I knew I would need to dig deep and honestly just didn't want to do the work at that time, had no real idea of what I truly wanted (but had figured out a lot about what I didn't want), or where I wanted to go in this life. For a variety of reasons, I picked it up again at the end of 2017 and decided to give the workbook a real shot. Turning the world of goal setting upside down and working with how I want to truly feel has helped me make some big life choices and changes. Once I decided how I wanted to feel and began to take action on feeling the way I wanted to feel a bit more every day... well things started changing. I may share some the soul opening details in later posts... but in the meantime I want to let you all know that the 2019 Desire Map Planner Collection is out now! As a member of the official Launch Team (yes!!!) I absolutely had to share this radically different way to check-in with your self in order to be present with every single day. And this year, there are some HUGE design upgrades to the whole system. This day planner is more than just a simple scheduler. Part calendar, part gratitude journal, part soulful introspection—this is a whole system designed to help you FEEL GOOD while getting stuff DONE. Where most planners are just about productivity and task management, The Desire Map Planner helps you design your days and weeks according to how you most want to feel. The way it should be, yes? The planners have been changed up every year, and here’s what’s new for the 2019 collection:
The planner comes in three versions: Daily, Weekly, and the (new!) Undated edition: The DAILY planner is great for the highly scheduled, detailed thinkers and A-types who love keeping track of all the big and little things. This planner takes you through the week day by day with ample space for scheduling and tasks, PLUS: #truthbombs; daily gratitude; a Stop Doing list (because saying no is revolutionary); and prompts to get you thinking about your physical and spiritual wellness. And every weekend, there’s a soul prompt for positive declaration, space to reflect, and a call to envision the week ahead. The WEEKLY planner is for the big dreamers, creatives, and entrepreneurs—the planner-types who tend to start with the big picture. This planner takes a look at your week over a two-page spread, so you can plan your week with a bird’s eye view. Like the Daily, it’s sprinkled with #truthbombs and also has space for your Core Desired Feelings and daily to-do’s. This planner also has a deep End-of-Week Check-in with unique soul prompts. Space to reflect on achievements, gratitude, things you want to change, and the relationships you want to nurture. (Because connection is everything). The UNDATED planner is new this year, and is perfect for those who want the ultimate freedom. It’s laid out just like the Weekly Edition, with weeks at a glance and deep reflection/envision time in between. But since it’s date-free, you can start it on your birthday, a significant religious/spiritual date, the academic year… whatever feels like YOUR New Year. I love planning my days—my LIFE—this way. Because when you’re clear on how you want to feel DAILY, decisions come to you more easily. You’ll know when to say “No” and when to say “Hell, YES!” And then you can put it in writing. The PRINTABLE planner is easy to print at home or at your local print shop. If you thrive on details and want more space to track all the moving parts of your life, the DAILY edition is the perfect version for you. If you tend towards big-picture thinking and want to see all your great plans at a glance, this WEEKLY edition is for you. The INTERACTIVE planner is the perfect companion for your paperless lifestyle. Simply download it to your tablet and tote your intentions around with you everywhere. These planners sell out every year… and with the new Desire Map Planner Program offering, this year is going to be fire. You can buy yours today and start planning the life you’ve always wanted.
